Despite the unkind weather of the recent bank holiday weekend the Highclare community took full advantage of the sunshine, when they could, as they participated in the Highclare Hike challenge!
We understand that due to the bad weather many families who wanted to participate in the charity challenge over the bank holiday couldn’t.
We are very happy to be able to extend the challenge over the next two weekends (8/9 and 15/16 May).
The Highclare community has already shown its incredible support, raising over £500, but please keep going! Log your miles on Highclare Virtual using the links as before which can be found here and donate any sponsorship to our JustGiving page here.
Thank you so much for your support, together we will make a difference.
The Highclare Hike is now an annual event which started life as an opportunity to feel together while physically apart during the first lockdown due to Covid-19. Children from pre-prep to sixth form, staff and alumni all contribute miles towards the challenge by walking, cycling and even swimming and monies raised will support the schools chosen 4 local charities
This year the Highclare community was challenged to travel from Highclare to Hamilton, Ontario, the first host of the first Commonwealth Games. We continue to share photos of pupils, teachers, support staff, governors, family and friends all taking part in walks, runs, scoots and cycles across our social media channels, we are very impressed with your commitment!
Although our priority is to enjoy a challenge that unites our community and keeps us active, healthy, safe while uniting us together we hoped to raise funds through sponsorship for four key charities:
- Shoe Aid
- TAWS (The Active Wellbeing Society)
- St Basils
- Erdington Food Bank
There is no minimum requirement to participate and every penny will be appreciated. A school sponsorship page has been set up for donations on Just Giving here.
