The Challenge
As a school community, we will walk, run or cycle from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, the host city of the very first Commonwealth Games, in 1932.
This is a hugely exciting challenge, which will keep us active, unite us together and support others as we raise funds through sponsorship for 4 key charities:
- Shoe Aid
- TAWS (The Active Wellbeing Society)
- St Basils
- Erdington Food Bank
Timing
The event will take place between Saturday 1 May and Monday 3 May, over the Bank holiday weekend. Miles can be logged, using the links on Highclare Virtual (see below).
Joining In
We encourage everyone in our community to take part; pupils, family members, staff and Alumni. Participation will be recorded by logging your mileage on Highclare Virtual (HV):

Share your ‘Journey’
As mileage is logged on Highclare Virtual, we aim to share our current ‘location’ as we travel towards Ontario. Keep up to date by following Highclare School on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Please do share with us your pictures as you take part by uploading to HV or by emailing Mrs Moore (seniorhead@highclareschool.co.uk) or Mrs Bennett (prephead@highclareschool.co.uk) or, when posting on social media, by adding #HighclareHike to posts.
It has never been more important to come together and show how much we care.
