Creative Writing

The Highclare Senior School Junior English Creative Writing Competition is the annual opportunity for pupils in the local community to allow their writing skills to shine.

This year wordsmiths from local primary schools were invited to write a poem about a significant person from the BAME community. Mrs Dawson, Head of English, was very impressed with the entries and, alongside Dr Luker, is delighted to announce the winners in the below presentation.

Congratulations to all pupils that took part, it is always wonderful to celebrate the abundance of local talent.

We are privileged to be able to share the winning poems virtually, we hope you enjoy viewing the below video.  Read by Highclare Senior School students the quality and depth of thought put into the poems received this year is clear to see.

Thank you to all who participated and we look foward to celebrating together in School when announcing the 2021 winning poems.
