The sixth form history students went on an exciting trip to London on 2 March to visit the Tower of London. It was fascinating to be able to walk around and retrace the steps of some of the Tower’s famous residents and prisoners who the students have recently been studying back at school, including Richard III, Anne Askew and Anne Boleyn. They were also able to view the crown jewels and observe the famous guardsmen parading around outside – even managing to pose for a few photos in front of them. The students then had time to explore some London culture with lunch in Chinatown and an evening trip around the maze of stalls and eateries of the Camden markets. The day finished with Scott Gibson jumping on the piano at Euston station and serenading the crowds before we caught our train back to Birmingham.
