Congratulations to Highclare Prep Eco Warriors who have worked tirelessly to achieve Green Flag Status via Eco-Schools!!
Eco-Schools is a seven step framework that schools and colleges around the world use to introduce, manage and complete environmental actions in their organisation and local community.
The Seven Steps of Eco-School aim to place young people at the heart of these environmental actions and Highclare Prep have certainly taken this challenge to their hearts. This approach has engaged, motivated and empowered our young people to care for our planet now and throughout their lifetimes.
Pupils at Highclare Preparatory School: St Paul’s and Highclare Preparatory School: Woodfield have created Eco Codes and environmental action plans for each site including the topics of litter, recycling, bio-diversity, school grounds, usable vegetable gardens and caring for local wildlife. Plans will be put into action from September onwards led by our passionate Eco Club team.
The Eco-Schools Green Flag is international and recognised by organisations such as UNESCO. It is a symbol of a school’s commitment to environmental education and we look forward to it flying proudly at Highclare Prep School.
