We hope you all had a marvellous Monday. Here are our suggested activities for Cygnets at home today.
If your child has some toy farm animals can you please ask them to sort the animals. For example, put all the pigs together, the cows together etc… Encourage your child to name the animals. Do they know what sound they make? Can they describe what they look like, such as, how many legs do they have? Do they have fur or feathers? Can they swim or fly?
Please find attached a sheet with pictures of some farm animals (just in case you don’t have any at home) and you could cut these pictures out and use them for the same activity.
Have a look on You Tube for a ‘Farmer Duck’ story. Also for ‘Two little dicky birds’ rhyme focusing on the number 2 (our number for this week). Look at the birds. How many legs do they have? How many wings do they have? Can your child do 2 claps, 2 stamps with their feet. Can they show you 2 fingers.
If you do have toy farm animals at home you could use them to print with in paint (or mud). Make some prints on paper.
When the animals are really dirty (either covered in paint or mud) perhaps you could give them an animal wash using an old toothbrush or washing up sponge.
