Mrs Bennett’s Bulletin, Tuesday 9 June 2020

Posted: 9th June 2020

Good Tuesday morning, Prep School,

I hope this Bulletin finds you well and that you all had a good Monday? I was in school and had a lovely day of break and lunch duties! It made a super change that it was dry and not raining. It was great to see everyone enjoying the outside instead of boomeranging in and outdoors as we seemed to do last week due to the rain!

The message of today’s bulletin – NEVER GIVE UP! No matter what. No matter how hard life can be, no matter what problem you are presented, no matter how sad you are feeling. . . You can do it, you can achieve, you will be happy. Have faith in yourself. Believe in your abilities. Be happy with who you are. Fight for your right to be you.

“Fight Song”

Like a small boat

On the ocean

Sending big waves

Into motion

Like how a single word

Can make a heart open

I might only have one match

But I can make an explosion

And all those things I didn’t say

Wrecking balls inside my brain

I will scream them loud tonight

Can you hear my voice this time?

This is my fight song

Take back my life song

Prove I’m alright song

My power’s turned on

Starting right now I’ll be strong

I’ll play my fight song

And I don’t really care if nobody else believes

‘Cause I’ve still got a lot of fight left in me

And all those things I didn’t say

Wrecking balls inside my brain

I will scream them loud tonight

Can you hear my voice this time?

This is my fight song

Take back my life song

Prove I’m alright song

My power’s turned on

Starting right now I’ll be strong

I’ll play my fight song

And I don’t really care if nobody else believes

‘Cause I’ve still got a lot of fight left in me

A lot of fight left in me

Like a small boat

On the ocean

Sending big waves

Into motion

Like how a single word

Can make a heart open

I might only have one match

But I can make an explosion

This is my fight song

Take back my life song

Prove I’m alright song

My power’s turned on

Starting right now I’ll be strong (I’ll be strong)

I’ll play my fight song

And I don’t really care if nobody else believes

‘Cause I’ve still got a lot of fight left in me

No I’ve still got a lot of fight left in me

So each day I promised I would be sending you a life skill task to complete and also a joke, poem, picture, fact or reflection. Here we go for Tuesday 9th June:

Life skill of the day: Can you make your own breakfast? (Please ensure you are overseen by an adult if you are using anything not or dangerous!)

Day of the year themes: ‘Donald Duck Day’, ‘Call Your Doctor Day’ and one for the adults ‘Rosé Day’

Thunk of the day: Remember, Thunks are unusual questions that are designed to make you think. There are no right or wrong answers -just your answer. The only rule is that you must be able to justify and explain your answer. You cannot just say the first thing that comes into your head. Really think about the question and discuss with your family!

Question: Can you stand on the same beach twice?

TOPS activity of the week: This is a two-week task. . . Can you think of the seven continents of the world and identify a major landmark from each e.g. Europe – Buckingham Palace. Can you then recreate these landmarks? You could bake them, make out of Lego, paint, dress up as them, make out of toilet rolls. . . use your imagination, there are many house point on offer for anyone that can achieve this!

It can be an individual or a family effort. I would love to see these photos once you have done and I will share on social media!

Quote of the Day: “Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world.”

Joyous June calendar task: Find the joy in music today: sing, dance, play or listen.

Sleeps til Santa: 198

Have a fantastic day,

Mrs Bennett 😊

PS Happy very special,,  multiple of ten, birthday to Mrs Harris! We hope you have an amazing day! xx
