Highclare History Students visit Tamworth Castle

Posted: 3rd March 2014

Highclare U3 students visited Tamworth Castle to learn more about life in a medieval castle. They spent the morning in two workshops about life and warfare in the medieval age. They had the opportunity to try on some armour, carry some real weapons and see what medieval clothes looked and felt like. The boys enjoyed a bit of ‘sword fighting’ in the great hall before they went off to explore the many rooms and exhibits of the castle.  They finished their castle tour via the haunted bed chamber, medieval dining room and they had a chance to try on some more clothes and wigs before they left.  They returned to school having had a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable visit.
