Pre School Study the Weather

Posted: 28th February 2014

What’s the weather like today?
If you want to know the answer, Pre School at Highclare St Paul’s can tell you. They have made their own wind socks (plastic cups and streamers) to hang outside in the playground to show which way the wind is blowing. They can also show you how much rain has fallen by referring to the rain gauges they made in January. These are now virtually full!  They took advantage of the frequent rain showers by splashing in puddles and then they noticed that they could see their reflections in the puddles. Pre School have been very interested in everything to do with the weather. In ICT sessions they have been looking at weather maps on the white board. In the classroom they have been using an interactive weather station to record the weather each day. They recently completed a homework sheet with cut out pictures showing what the weather was like during the half term holiday.
