Highclare go to the Big Maths Quiz

Posted: 22nd March 2013

In March 2013 over 100 teams from over 40 schools descended upon the Great Hall at Birmingham University to take part in the Big Maths Quiz.  Rounds in the quiz will focused upon different aspects of mathematics and there was a specialist round on the life and times of Galileo.   The questions got harder as the day progressed and Highclare made a valiant effort against strong competition.  The warm up round required pupils to use their powers of estimation to calculate the number of hair follicles on the heads of the entire audience.  The final rounds required the pupils to show off their Pythagoras skills and more advanced techniques.
A fun day was had by all.
