Woodfield Rocks!

Posted: 10th April 2012

Children and staff at Highclare Woodfield have spent a busy year fundraising for ACORNS Childrens Hospice. From mixing Christmas puddings with ingredients kindly donated by Tesco, to jam making, the whole school has been involved. The final activities this term included a successful Grand Auction, where proceeds spiralled towards £3,500 and a school market.

Our Penny Lane Market comprised stalls selling lettuces, freshly picked every day, from our allotment and a variety of items made by the children. The final figure for our year’s fundraising efforts at Woodfield was a staggering £7,950. We were delighted to hand over our cheque to Joanne Donagher from ACORNS on Wednesday 15th July. Joanne graciously accepted our cheque and when she talked to the school about how the much needed money will be used, we knew our efforts had been worthwhile.

We had fun making our puddings !
