King Of Nothing – Nathanael Lessore

Aimed at young adults, this book is both funny and moving.  Written by a new author, Nathanael Lessore, it’s about Anton and his friends who are used to ruling the school. When Anton gets into serious trouble at school, he doesn’t really care, but his mum decides it’s time for Anton to make some new friends and join the Happy Campers, a local activity group. Matthew, the biggest loser at school joins too and unexpectedly saves Anton’s life. An unlikely friendship forms and Anton finds himself questioning everything he thought was important.

 

Blood Flowers – Jay McGuiness

This debut novel will appeal to younger teen readers. It is a pacy fantasy about two communities, the rich roofsiders and the poor cobblesiders. When Bear discovers that the governors of the town of Calleston are corrupt, he must find a way to prove them guilty in order to save the townsfolk and his friends.

Perfect for Hunger Games fans.
