Good morning, Prep School family,
I hope that this Bulletin finds you well and not too busy at this time of year. I hope you all had great weekends and no doubt many of you, like me, are already looking forward to the next one! I had a lovely weekend seeing lots of friends and family and finally emptying the last of the moving boxes. However, I am not being too smug as I might have emptied them but all I have done is created another pile of things to sort on the floor! By the time you read this though, it will be done as it is my mission to have tidied away before I go away for the week. Sunday was my favourite day this weekend as I spent most of the day at home – pottering about. We went food shopping (I actually love this job) and then I didn’t leave the house again. Mr Bennett went out for Sunday lunch with his family but I offered to stay at home with Betty as we cannot leave her for that long just yet. Betty and I did some Christmas shopping, watched a film, cooked for the week and just generally slowed down the pace. It was delightful.
For those of you asking about Betty, she is doing really well! She is growing at a rate of knots and has doubled in size since we got her. I cannot believe that she is 12 weeks old today and is off to the vets for her vaccinations which means she can soon go out for walks. She is very ready to go exploring the world. Her favourite place to go is currently our local pub! She is spoilt rotten each time we go in and as she isn’t allowed on the floor as yet, you can imagine the number of people that offer to hold her. I have attached a photo of her in the snow last week.
I am very much looking forward to being in school next week and indulging myself in everything Christmas. I cannot wait to see all of our children shine in everything that they do. From visiting the care home to carol sing to the multiple nativities on offer to Stories Around the Christmas Tree, I know that they will do us all proud.
However, all of this being said, I am acutely aware that Christmas is not an easy time for some people. I know that people struggle emotionally, financially and socially. I know that not everyone enjoys Christmas like I do and I do know that I can be really annoying at this time of year, too! However you’re feeling are about the festive period, do what you need to do for you. Make sure that you are ok and that you manage to enjoy the coming weeks, whatever that looks like. No pressure.
Quote of the week: Yes, that’s right, the Christmas ones have started!
