We have received some incredible news from a former student that we were keen to share. Having completed her time at Highclare this summer, Leshawn has gone on to attend some remarkable sporting events, excelling in the long jump.
Leshawn recently attended a competition in Slovakia, being the only woman competing that was under the age of 20. Reportedly being her most intense competition yet, Leshawn’s first three jumps were no jumps, however her fourth took her from last place to sixth, securing her spot in the top qualifying eight.
After achieving further success in a variety of competitions, Leshawn went on to compete at the England National U20 Championships. After two no jumps, her third was a safe one, keeping her in the competition. Her fourth and final jump took her from last place to third, meaning that she achieved a bronze medal! She has also now been selected for the U20 England team.
Looking to the future, Leshawn is now considering further education, both at home and abroad, with several American universities offering unique opportunities for her to study aviation in addition to working on her sporting skills.
We look forward to seeing Leshawn continue to flourish and are excited to see what the the future will hold for her. A huge congratulations Leshawn!
