Last week we welcomed children from our own preparatory schools as well as members from 12 other primary schools in the local area to our senior school for the culmination of our Creative Writing Competition.
Gathering in the refectory, parents, children and staff members read poetry all about the ancient Egyptian pharaoh – Tutankhamun. We received over 500 entries in total including a large amount from our own Preparatory School pupils but among the highly commended there could be only one winner.
That winner was Imogen from Pheasey Park Farm Primary School with an incredible poem about discovery. Her poem was read out by our head boy after Dr Luker and Mrs Dawson had delivered their speeches and thank you’s.
We would like to congratulate all those who received awards on the night and say thank you to every pupil who submitted a poem to the competition. It was a pleasure to see all the hard work and thought that had gone in to them.
