Karran will appear in a documentary ‘Indi for England’

Posted: 22nd September 2022

We would like to give Karran a special mention for his super effort in participating in a documentary ‘Indi for England’ about a migrant to England in 1960s and her son dreaming of playing football for England.

The work questions how life choices are shaped by your environment, and addresses the complexities of living across opposing cultures, traditions and identities.

He was chosen for the part after his audition at Quirky Kidz  (Pauline Quirk Academy).

The documentary was filmed for it on 7th July 2022. It is one of many pieces of work by Billy Dosanjh’s upcoming solo exhibition being shown from 22th September to 7th January 2023 at New Art Exchange in Nottingham.

Karran has been invited to the opening launch night at NAE which he is immensely looking forward to.

GCSE Results

This year Highclare students have once again produced outstanding GCSE results.  Nearly one third of all grades were at the highest level of 7 and above and our overall pass rate was 92%, all of which are significantly above the national figures of 22% and 68% respectively.

Half of all grades were 6 and above and 98% of our full-time students achieved 5 of more GCSE passes. Having scored particularly excellent grades in Science and Maths, we are welcoming 4 students onto our Pre-Med scholarship program, designed to support students with medicine-related university applications.

Nearly 10% of our cohort have achieved 8 or more GCSEs at the top grades of 7 or above (or 35% achieved 7 or more GCSEs at the top grades of 6 or above).
