On Monday 21 March, Mrs Darke delivered a super assembly to introduce Highclare Science Week which this year was on the topic of ‘Growth’. During the assembly two exciting competitions were launched which the children are all currently enjoying.
From Pre-Prep through to Yr6 classrooms have been taken over by cress growing potato heads! children scooped out potato to make potato pots, lovingly layered soft, damp cotton wool for their cress seeds to rest and grow on and they have been well-watered, some are already starting to get their ‘hair’. The ‘hair’ will be measured next week, with the tallest cress in each class winning a prize.
