Show Racism The Red Card

Posted: 29th September 2021

Last week,  ahead of completing a charity run, Mr Sneary delivered an inspirational assembly on the theme of racism.

“I am running with two friends as part of team “Unite”. We have chosen the name “Unite” because we are coming together to take a stand against racism and run to raise money for a fabulous charity.

During the recent European Football Championship, you may remember the appalling way that some of our footballers were treated on social media after England lost in the semi-final penalty shootout.  Racism is total unacceptable in this day and age, but education is the key.

We are running for the fantastic charity “Show Racism the Red Card”. This year it celebrates its 25th year.”

On Sunday 26 September, Mr Sneary ran the C2C Run  https://www.c2crun.co.uk/ , a 10 mile multi-terrain run from Lichfield Cathedral to Tamworth Castle.

Show Racism The Red Card is an anti-racism educational charity. They aim to combat racism through enabling role models, who are predominately but not exclusively footballers, to present an anti-racist message to young people and others.
