Both Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh students recently took part in a 2 day practice session in readiness for their expedition. On day one students walked from Bromsgrove to Barnt Green, in extremely hot temperatures, then Barnt Green to Hagley on a cooler Day 2.
Students cooked on a trangia and leant essential map reading skills. All students coped admirably. They have learnt that bringing the correct type of food is essential, as is the need to wear walking boots in before a long hike!
