Highclare Home Science: Experiment 4 Skittle Diffusion

Posted: 8th June 2020

The fourth experiment in the Highclare Home Science series is …… Skittle Diffusion!

This week we are looking at diffusion in action. It’s a really quick and simple experiment that provides endless opportunities for exploring this concept whilst developing beautiful colourful patterns. One for all the family to enjoy! You can even eat the Skittles when you’ve finished if you don’t mind them being a little soggy.

You can find the work sheet for the task here 4. Skittle Diffusion which includes key words and ideas for further investigations using the same equipment.

Can you go one step further and create your own investigation? Could you design a results table to record your findings?

Don’t forget to send us pictures of your work to marketing@highclareschool.co.uk and use #HighclareHomeScience and tag us in your posts on social media. I can’t wait to see what patterns you manage to produce.
