U13 Boys’ Table Tennis 19.11.19

Posted: 25th November 2019

The success of the new table tennis club, which is open to everyone on a Thursday lunchtime, has led to a team being entered into the Sutton Schools Table Tennis Tournament.

The team of 4 travelled to Arthur Terry School. Players were ranked 1-4 and each of the pupils played the opposing schools players of the same rank in a first to 11, best of 3 match.

There was some fantastic table tennis played over the course of the tournament, with each of the pupils growing with confidence as the tournament went on, learning from their mistakes and developing strategies as each game developed.

By the end of the tournament, the scores were added up, with the pupils receiving more points for a 2-0 win than a 2-1. Highclare scored 37 points, 4 clear of the next school, Plantsbrook and Arthur Terry and Bishop Vesey coming in 3rd and 4th respectively.

This means that the team will be representing the district at the Birmingham Youth Games in February.

A huge congratulations to Rahim, Robin, Harry and Sarjan!
