J6 Travel Back To Victorian Times

Posted: 27th June 2019

Highclare Preparatory J6 pupils enjoyed a wonderful trip back in time when they visited Blists Hill Victorian Town.

Children had the opportunity to visit the bank and learn all about how money has changed over time. Once the children had exchanged their money for shillings and farthings they then explored the Victorian town. The chip shop was a popular destination but by far the most popular shop was the Victorian sweet shop, which had J6 pupils queuing around the corner!

Children were able to meet a range of people from printers, chemists, butchers, bakers, candlestick makers and many more. This was all finished off by a visit to the Victorian fairground with activities such as the carousel and the coconut shy.
