U3 Students Sing In Harmony

Posted: 18th June 2019

On Monday, U3 students engaged in an inspiring singing workshop with visitors from the ‘Singing Community of Choirs’.

Richard Jeffries, a well-known choral director from the area, came in with his accompanist Chris, to get students clapping, clicking, ‘doo-wopping’, and singing along together in 4 part harmony! Students sang popular, gospel, and traditional numbers; and ended with ‘A Million Dreams’ from The Greatest Showman.

Richard talked to the students about the importance of singing for our own intellect, wellbeing, and holistic development; and how we should all do more of it. Students were invited to a taster session at ‘SCChoirs’ on the 10th July (see http://scchoirs.org.uk/ for more information).

It would also be fabulous to have more of our wonderful singing voices involved in extracurricular music for further enrichment; and hopefully following the workshop, some more students will be interested in joining the ‘HighC Singers’ in September!
