What Career Live With U5

Posted: 7th March 2019

U5 pupils enjoyed an insightful visit to the NEC on Friday 1 March to gain a greater understanding into the different career paths available on leaving school.

Universities from all over the UK and the USA exhibited, offering advice about entry routes onto their courses and university life.  Pupils could also approach employers and ask about the very varied school leaver entry routes into various professions.

Russell Group universities were on hand to answer questions as well as companies, including Deloitte, IBM, JCB, NHS, Rolls Royce, Unilever and the armed forces.

For those interested in music or gaming, there was a Buskers’ Corner as well as the Creative Hub for those thinking about jobs in advertising, broadcasting, design, marketing and PR.

The afternoon offered our pupils the opportunity to understand the different school-leaver options, including apprenticeships, degree apprenticeships and university course options both in the UK and abroad.
