Duke Of Edinburgh training walk April 2018

38 students and 7 staff embarked on a Duke Of Edinburgh training walk last weekend in preparation for their Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.

23 U4 and15 L5 mastered map and compass skills, how to use a Trangia, had discussions on the Country Code and what food to take on an expedition.  It proved a successful trip allowing students to gain new skills and ask any questions they may have.

A wonderful time was had by all as they covered the 6km course in the sunshine.

Our Sixth Form Pre-Med Scholarship is now live for applicants to Highclare Sixth Form from September 2024 onwards.

The scholarship provides a bespoke programme for students aiming to enter university in September 2026 with a research-science based degree.
