L4 & A Royal Audience With Queen Elizabeth I

Posted: 18th January 2018

On 15 January the L4ths were invited for a royal audience with Queen Elizabeth I. They were told fascinating stories of her childhood and her reign as Queen. She even gave some of us the opportunity to hold a real Tudor execution sword and Elizabeth was so impressed with Shini’s answers to her questions that she gave her a year’s free pass to visit the castle. After lunch we were given the opportunity to explore the castle grounds. This involved games of hide and seek and much running up and down muddy castle embankments. A good day was had by all and we returned to school a bit muddy but with some great memories of the day.
