An Outdoor Experience for J4

Posted: 3rd July 2017

J4 pupils from Highclare Junior Schools had a wonderful trip to Weston Park, nr Weston under Lizard  in Shropshire recently to enjoy the park and woodland.  They spent the day investigating and exploring the extensive woodland areas in the park,  where they were introduced to the many different types of trees and their characteristics.  The children created a collage from natural items found on the woodland floor and also did some bark rubbings.  The pond dipping activity was really exciting and many different species of pond life were discovered, including water boatmen, leeches and caddis larvae.  The afternoon was completed with a walk through the summer meadow catching butterflies, damselflies and moths.

A fantastic outdoor experience for everyone.
