Where does our rain go ??

Posted: 26th April 2017

After a dry spell of weather, and rain now forecast for the rest of this week, it was pertinent that our Junior School pupils at Highclare St Paul’s took part in a special assembly with guest visitors, Tracy and Justin from Severn Trent Water.  Severn Trent Water is based in Birmingham and is responsible for water management and supply, and waste water treatment and disposal, in the catchment areas of two of Britain’s largest rivers – the Severn and the Trent.

They discussed their role at Severn Trent and then invited some pupils out to take part in an activity about keeping the sewers clean, explaining what items we really should not allow in our sewers !

At the end everyone felt that they knew a lot more about what happens to our water and how we can play a part in keeping our rivers a healthy environment.
