As part of their ‘Judaism’ topic in RE, J4P enjoyed a visit to the Central Birmingham Synagogue in Edgbaston. Their guide, Mrs Gold, gave the children an informative tour of the building, pointing out many interesting features and explained the symbolic meaning behind them. In the glass carvings outside the synagogue, pupils recognised some of the scenes from the story of Moses and the Ten Commandments and were amazed to see the beautiful Torah scrolls behind the decorated curtain in the ark.
