‘The Gruffalo’ at Highclare School

Posted: 17th October 2014

Pupils, parents and staff at Highclare St Paul’s celebrated the grand opening of their fabulous playground mural which features characters from the book ‘The Gruffalo’ .

The painting, which has been created by local artist Bruce Jones, was an idea introduced by pupils from all age groups on the school council.

Bruce painted the picture in just two weeks, whilst children and parents watched it evolving.  Dr Luker and Mr Jones were invited to perform an opening ceremony in the playground for the benefit of all the pre-school children, staff and parents.
