Triathlon 2014 – 7th May Lucton School Inaugural ISA Triathlon.

Jack in J5 wins Tristar 1 Triathlon competition.

Highclare Juniors teamed up with our friends and colleagues from the Senior School to compete in the National ISA triathlon tournament. Held at Lucton School in Herefordshire, it was the first ever ISA triathlon competition and comprised swimming, cycling and running.
Jack and Daisy entered the Tristar 1 category for those aged 9-10 which saw them swim for 150 metres then cycle 2km before finishing with a 1.2 km run. Both competed well with Jack having the honour of being the first ever in this a category to claim gold medal finishing nearly 90 seconds faster than his nearest competitor. His skill, determination and endeavour were an inspiration. In the Tristar 2,  age range category 11-12.  Highclare were represented by Harrison B and James G who both performed very well. They swam 200 metres, cycled for 4 km and ran 1.8 km.
Conditions were not the best with spells of icy rain and wind but all competitors showed real grit and determination and it was a credit to them how they applied themselves. The whole competition was a joy to watch and be a part of.  Highclare are very proud of their triathletes and we look forward to making this a regular annual event.
