Highclare Juniors investigate the Trussell Trust as part of their Rotary Award

Posted: 28th January 2014

J6R were invited to present their research project to the Juniors at Highclare Woodfield.  They investigated The Trussell Trust based in Erdington and researched what the food bank did for the community. The real life stories were moving but thankfully the trust could help families in moments of desperation who were lacking the means to feed their families.
J6R presented their findings with sensitivity concluding with a cheerful rendition of ‘Food Glorious Food’ with Jasmine as choreographer.
The pupils have arranged, with the help of Jean Morton who is based at Six Ways Baptist Church, collection of non-perishable foods. As part of their Rotary Award the pupils have to check the weight and sell- by date then, using marker pens record the expiry date on the lid.
Mrs Bayliss, their Form Teacher said, “The passion with which the J6R pupils delivered their appeal to the Woodfield Juniors was heartfelt and demonstrated their passion for helping others in the local community. I am very proud of their charitable attitude and caring nature. Thank you.”
