Highclare Woodfield Welcomes the Lord Mayor

Posted: 27th January 2014

Staff and pupils at Woodfield offered a warm welcome to the Lord and Lady Mayoress of Birmingham when they visited school this week.

We were delighted when the Lord Mayor took up our invitation to join us for our Citizenship Week.    After a tour of our school, led confidently by our Head Boy, Arjun and Head Girl, Jasmine, the Lord Mayor happily cut the ribbon and officially opened our scooter shelter which had been kindly made by Mr Price, a Reception parent.     With the lyrics of Reception’s “Riding Along on My Little Red Scooter” echoing on the playground, the Lord Mayor made his way indoors to join the rest of the school for a special assembly where he presented pupils with Citizenship Awards which had been generated by staff.
