L4 History Trip to Tutbury Castle

Posted: 24th January 2014

L4 students embarked on a trip to the atmospheric ruined castle at Tutbury. On arrival they went inside the great hall to have an audience with Queen Elizabeth I who gave them a talk about her life and times and answered all of their questions about her decisions and actions as queen. She was so impressed with Dylon’s questions that she knighted him with a rusty old Tudor sword!

In the afternoon the students were able to explore the castle. They returned to school having learnt a lot more about Elizabeth I and feeling lucky to have had the castle all to themselves for the day.
