Midlands Air Ambulance

Posted: 10th April 2012

Pupils from the Abbey and St Paul's adopted the Air Ambulance as their charity for the year and raised an amazing sum of £7930.

Amrita Patel from Air Ambulance visited us last week to speak to the pupils about the charity, and tell them how the money will be used to save lives within the West Midlands. Pupils from the School Council presented her with a cheque.

During the past academic year, pupils, staff and parents have supported numerous charity fund raising events including cake sales, bag packing at local stores, Quiz nights, a sponsored 'Shake and Wake' exercise and a fabulous whole school Fashion Show. Mrs Patel commended the children for their hard work and commented that Highclare's contribution was significant and would pay for Air Ambulance to be operational on 3 or 4 occasions.

Mrs Moore, Pastoral Head of Senior School at Highclare said 'Our pupils have been exceptional in their enthusiasm to raise money for the Air Ambulance charity and we are very proud of their efforts, but they themselves also gain a lot from the experience.'
