Highclare are winners again !

‘HMS Birmingham Vase’ Final

Highclare 5  Our Lady St. Rose of Lima 0

For the second consecutive year the boys at Highclare School’s Junior Department reached the final of this prestigious Birmingham Primary Schools 7 a-side football competition.

In what was a closely contested contest from start to finish, although the score might suggest otherwise, Highclare came out worthy winners.

First half goals from Benny Watson (2) and Dhruv Kaul, and a fine display of passing football, gave Highclare a comfortable lead at the break. The second half became a battle with Highclare’s defenders and goalkeeper doing well. Jagpal Sumbal, normally a defensive midfield player, tripled his seasons goal tally with two goals in the second half making the game safe.

The trophy was presented, at Bodymoor Heath Aston Villa's training ground, by the Deputy Lord Mayor of Birmingham.

All the boys were presented with medals and a fine trophy to add to their ever expanding trophy cabinet !

The team consisted of :

Cameron Gregory, Benny Watson, Ryan Tamana, Matt Brain, Ben Green, Charlie Perry-Osborne, Thomas West, Dhruv Kaul, Harry Morris and Jagpal Sumbal.
