Cross Country Success

CROSS COUNTRY SUCCESS FOR LAURA RICHARDSON

On Saturday 5th March, Laura Richardson , won the overall trophy in the U14 girls section at the Independent Schools’ National Final for Cross Country.   This makes her National Champion for her age group.

Laura is a current Year 7 pupil at the school and won the school’s first gold medal at this age group on Saturday, coming through a field of more than 70 runners.   The race was held at Princethorpe College and saw 7 different regions competing for honours, with Laura and  6 other boys and girls from Highclare School representing the West Midlands Region.

Laura,is also an excellent swimmer, and ran this cross country race on Saturday, before going to Coventry to represent Boldmere Swimming Club in a Gala!

Mrs De-Sousa Bartlett, Head of PE at Highclare School said “We regularly have representatives from Highclare School competing in National Championships.   Competition is always keen, but Laura is a talented runner and came home an easy winner on Saturday.   We are all very proud of her achievement”

Our Sixth Form Pre-Med Scholarship is now live for applicants to Highclare Sixth Form from September 2024 onwards.

The scholarship provides a bespoke programme for students aiming to enter university in September 2026 with a research-science based degree.
