Head of PE and Sport (Highclare Preparatory School)

Required for September 2023.

We are seeking to appoint an innovative and dynamic Head of PE and Sport (with a focus on girls’ sport) to lead this key department at our prep school. The successful candidate will have extremely high standards of conduct, excellent communication and leadership skills and a record of high-quality, inspirational teaching across the prep age range (5-11). This position offers a great opportunity to a charismatic and ambitious professional to work collaboratively with the prep school leadership team, as well as the head of sport at the senior school, to ensure an exciting, innovative and balanced provision of sport and PE is on offer throughout the prep school.

The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute fully to the pastoral and extra-curricular life of the School.

This is a unique role as Highclare Preparatory School is split over two locations (Highclare St Paul’s and Highclare Woodfield). The successful candidate will lead and manage the sports department on a daily basis whilst at the same time being an integral part of the leadership team, who we expect to tirelessly champion their subject and to encourage intellectual curiosity and active learning.

This is a full-time post, and we welcome applications from suitably experienced teachers from both the independent and state sectors. The ability to teach swimming is highly desirable but not essential.
