We would like to welcome you to Woodfield, where your child’s first experiences away from home will be happy, positive ones. Woodfield, set in extensive grounds on the original Highclare School site, founded some seventy five years ago, offers a warm, friendly co-educational environment for children from three to seven.
All important stages of development are catered for, from the structural play of the Foundation Stage, where pupils from three years old learn to develop as individuals, to the broad curriculum offered at Key Stage 1. All children are encouraged to develop confidence, self-esteem and consideration for others.
The curriculum is well-structured and sequenced in order to ensure progression and development of children’s intellectual growth, encompassing all aspects of Numeracy, Literacy, Science and ICT, together with History, Geography, Art/Design and Technology. Additionally, specialist teaching, from three years old is offered in Music and Physical Education and a wide range of extra curricular activities.
A dedicated and long established team of teaching staff guide children carefully through their education and aim to lay foundations for each child to become confident, independent and self-motivated learners. To complete the extensive level of care offered at Woodfield, a wrap-around, before and after school, service is available from 8.00 am until 6.00 pm and led by a Quality Assurance Award Winning team of qualified staff.
The Woodfield ethos has a strong focus on pastoral care and the generosity of spirit displayed by staff, parents and children has helped us to support many worthwhile causes within the community.
A strong nurturing programme is in place to ensure that the transition to the next important stage of each child’s development is a smooth and well prepared for event.
We would be delighted to arrange an appointment for you to visit us so that you can experience at first hand the friendly atmosphere and the educational experience awaiting your child at Highclare Woodfield
