On Monday 4th December the girls in Year 8 were treated to their very own experience of the English Civil War by a visiting Workshop group. The girls were able to dress in the armour and clothes worn by soldiers and given an insight into the conditions and life that the soldiers would have led during their campaign.
'" This 'hands on' practical way to history helps the girls to appreciate more fully the facts they are required to learn and allows them to form their own opinions of what happened at that point in history" said history teacher Miss Watson. The girls really appreciated just feeling the sheer weight of the clothing and difficulties that the men were working under.
