Highclare Helps Haiti
By Emily Beesley (J6)
Recently, a dreadful earthquake happened in Haiti. The earthquake left many dead and others severely injured. Homes and buildings were knocked down as the earthquake shook, trapping people under the rubble. Our school, Highclare The Abbey, decided to help these poor unfortunate people by holding a fundraising event, involving many enjoyable activities. We managed to raise £186.85.
We took part in activities such as a raffle, "The ten piece trail" and a game of bingo.
Mrs Jones told us some information about Haiti in assembly. She told us that Haiti was in the middle of two of the earths plates and when the plates move it causes the country above to shake. We had a fabulous day, but we all remembered the unfortunate people in Haiti.

Recently a terrible earthquake hit Haiti in the Carribean. This huge earthquake took many lives and destroyed homes. Highclare School decided to do some fundraising for people who have suffered in this horrendous earthquake.
The school council had an emergency meeting with Mrs Jones our head teacher to talk about what we could do for Haiti. They decided on three activities, they were Bingo, a raffle and a 10pence trail.
Everybody enjoyed all the fundraising events and we also managed to raise a lot of money
