Children from Pre-school – J6 all enjoyed a wide variety of activities during our ‘Be Safe’ week, they particularly enjoyed the visitors from the Fire, Police and Ambulance Services where they were told about road safety, first aid and fire safety. The RNLI taught the children how to stay safe around water and the dangers surrounding them on a beach. J5 and J6 learnt how to do a rope rescue. Pre-school had a road safety talk by the police and the playground was set up with road safety in mind for them to learn how to cross the road and be safe. Nurse Willis came into school to talk to pre-school – J2 and spoke to the children about safety in the home.
The juniors had a busy day out at Birches Valley on Cannock Chase building shelters, orienteering, team building and learning map skills. After a day out in the pouring rain they needed their shelters!
They returned to school very wet and muddy but had a fantastic day.
