On Monday 21st September the pupils in J5P spent an enjoyable day learning about the Battle of Bosworth Field. They heard how King Richard III was defeated and lost his crown to Henry Tudor began the Tudor Period in history. The day started
with the boys becoming history detectives giving the pupils an opportunity to handle real historical objects. Following this the boys were put through their paces by Captain Mortimer in his camp with a display of armour, weapons and combat techniques. The boys became new recruits and took part in a pole arm drill. During the afternoon the children had a Guided walk of the Battlefield Trail where one of Bosworth’s knowledgeable and experienced Guides brought the events of the Battle of Bosworth.
