The qualified teaching staff aim to lay the foundations for each child to become confident, independent and self-motivated. It is important to make one of their first experiences away from home a happy, friendly time with new discoveries within a warm, welcoming environment.
Structured play: Time is always made for the girls and boys to be involved in structured play. Play activities are an essential part of a pre-school child’s development. Through organised play children learn to develop as individuals.
The curriculum is well structured and sequenced in order to ensure progression and development of children’s intellectual growth, encompassing all aspects of the Early Learning Goals as set down in the National Curriculum.
The broad curriculum embraces all aspects of numeracy, literacy and science, together with history, geography, ICT, art, design and technology. Specialist teaching in PE and Music, including recorders all forms part of a standard week’s activities.
Staff encourage the children to extend language through reading and writing using the comprehensive libraries to instil a love of books at this early age.
Pupils benefit from the use of interactive white boards, their own on-site computer rooms, and fully equipped gymnasium. All the children are encouraged to develop self confidence, self esteem and consideration for others in a structured, caring environment.
