
Scholarships are generally awarded to girls when they enter the Senior Department at 11+ and further opportunities are given to pupils entering the Sixth form.

11+ Entry
Scholarships will be awarded based on those girls applying for entry to Year 7 in September 20010. There will be an Entrance Assessment day on Friday 12th March 2010 . Candidates should complete the relevant downloadable application form

Academic scholarships are awarded to pupils who perform particularly well in the 11+ Entrance Assessment and who demonstrate a considerable degree of all round commitment to the School.
Additional Scholarships will also be awarded for those girls showing a particular talent in either Music, Sport or Art. All girls will be invited for a short interview with the Headmistress. Those applying for consideration in one of the specialist areas will also be expected to attend a short audition/test.
All Scholarships will be part fees and will be awarded at the discretion of the Headmistress. The Scholarship will be awarded for the duration of a girl’s education within the senior school and will be reviewed annually.
Those girls awarded a specialist scholarship will be expected to play a full part in the life of that department within the school.
Specialist Scholarships Criteria
1. Music
A competence to Examination Grade 3 is desirable, although all examination results will be considered.An audition on at least one Instrument will be required and will take place in school after the academic assessment.
At the audition, candidates must bring with them one suitable performance piece and will be expected to do sight reading and aural tests.
Any orchestral instrument, keyboard or voice may be offered.
2. Art
Candidates will be asked to complete a timed observational drawing exercise, following the academic assessmentand asked to take part in a group discussion, critically analysing a painting supplied by the art department on the day.
Candidates will not need to bring any equipment with them as all materials for the observational exercise will be supplied by the school.
3. Sport
Candidates may be asked to take part in a short practical session in the Gymnasium under the guidance of the Head of P.E. Assessment will be made relating to agility, hand to eye co-ordination and general fitness. Consideration will also be given to specialist skills.Candidates taking part will need to come suitably dressed.

Candidates may apply in one of the following areas:
Academic Scholarship - to those generally showing high academic potential
Service to the School (Awarded to existing pupils only) - an award made based on the pupils commitment to the school in any other area other than academic.
Candidates may also be considered for a Scholarship in one of the following specialist categories
Music, Sport and Art . They will be expected to be taking this subject into the A level studies and show a high degree of competence and commitment already.
